Many of you will be driving/flying to Asheville and we want to make your travel as seamless as possible. If you will be traveling by plane, for best fares book early! We recommend that you travel to Asheville on Thursday July 26th, unless you have made other special arrangements with us. Classes start early on Friday and we want to leave you plenty of time to rest before the festivities begin. The last class on Sunday will end at 3 PM so that the presenter can get home at a reasonable hour. Presenters who are flying will have a preference for the earliest classes on Sunday.  We will not be providing accommodations on Sunday evening so if you plan to stay that night be sure to make your own arrangements.

You can fly directly into the Asheville Regional Airport (airport code AVL). If you chose to fly to other surrounding airports (Charlotte, Greenville, Atlanta) we will not provide or reimburse you for transportation from that airport to Asheville.  All Uber, taxi, shuttle or bus fees are your responsibility.

If you are not local, you will be hosted by festival partner hotel for up to three (3) nights during the festival, dependent on class schedule. We will cover the cost of the room per-night and all taxes, however, we are not responsible for tips, room service or any other purchase made outside of the above arrangement. Any room upgrades are the responsibility of the presenter. All accommodations are subject to be shared rooms unless otherwise stated in private correspondence. We will do our best to provide private rooms whenever possible. For questions or concerns, please email Amanda or Sara directly. If you would prefer to stay with a local student or friend, please let us know asap. We are happy to make arrangements for you to stay in the community.

In your contract, there is a detailed outline of the festivals agreement with you for your travel reimbursement. Please read it carefully and let us know if you have any questions. AYF will not be held responsible for any travel costs within the city of Asheville throughout the duration of the festival including but not limited to taxi, uber, bike/car rental. We will do our best to provide transportation to and from the airport. AYF is not responsible for any tips that you might provide to any staff at any time.

There are dozens of delicious restaurants scattered through downtown Asheville and we encourage you to try as many as you can! This year our delicious food vendors have agreed to provide meals for you throughout the weekend. Inside of your welcome gift you'll receive "vouchers" for the vendors at the festival. You can use these throughout the weekend for any meal you chose!

You are welcome and encouraged to bring assistants to your classes. However, Asheville Yoga Festival is not responsible for any compensation related to your assistant, including but not limited to travel, hotel, and payment for work.

Below is our Assistant Policy:

  • They may attend any event lead by the teacher they are assisting

  • They have access to all public events including vendor village, slackline park, and most yoga talk sessions.

  • All other classes will be granted access only after all paying attendees, volunteers, presenters and wait-listers have been given access. If there is room in the class after that, the assistants are welcome to join the class.

  • Or, they may purchase a full 3-day pass at a discounted amount of $200 for full regular access.

  • Assistants must purchase tickets to attend: MC YOGI, SUP Yoga, Vortex Hikes, Waterfall hikes and any other "add-on".

We will be announcing our schedule in March. Attendees will have the opportunity to sign up for classes ahead of the festival using sched.org. We will send you confirmation of your class times and descriptions sometime in February. We recommend that you promote as much as possible to ensure that your classes are full and that your students get front row seats!

We cannot guarantee any presenter a particular venue or time slot in the class schedule. However, we will do our best to accommodate your requests and special requirements. We will use the class descriptions that you have provided, if we need clarification on any descriptions, we will send a separate email. Your contract specifies how many classes you have agreed to teach. It is not guaranteed that you will teach that number of classes, but we will not exceed that number on the schedule.

Although it is not stated in your contract, we ask that you respect the efforts that the festival has taken to get you here, to promote your classes and to accommodate you while you are here. We ask that you take this into consideration before you agree to teach in the surrounding vicinity (within 400 miles) anytime within 2 weeks of the festival. If you chose to take a teaching opportunity within these parameters, we have the right to decrease your travel expenditure and your hotel accommodations.
